The Three Week Miracle:
The Three Week Miracle:
Torn between wanting to support this wonderful endeavor and being overwhelmed by what we already had committed to, we decided to visit the home and meet the elderly lady who had been displaced because of Hurricane Katrina. After looking at the house, we felt sure that it would be too much for us to take on, requiring a miracle to complete in the timeline needed. Armed with all the logical reasons why we shouldn't take this project on, we set off to locate Councilman Stallworth to let him know. However, after going to his office and trying his cell phone, we were unable to connect with him.

Later that night, we shared with other members of our team of this opportunity, and one member in particular asked if he could see the home. During the second visit, we collectively decided to at least pray about the request. The following morning, the entire team felt that even though it would take a miracle to complete the home, it was an endeavor that we felt God was leading us to take.

After deciding to commit to the project, the first attempt to reach Councilman Stallworth to inform him of our now revised decision was successful. That day, we received the first of many miracles that have taken place in working on this home. The first miracle was obtaining a building inspection within a few hours of requesting one from the city of Biloxi. Normally, this takes between 48 to 72 hours. There have been many logistic "miracles", as things have amazingly fallen into place, allowing this home to be completed in such a short time.

We are still working on homes that we began six months ago, and to see what has taken place in the past three weeks is astounding. The bulk of the labor was done by a team of 29 individuals from a church in Windham, New Hampshire; 21 of whom were teenagers. This team worked so hard; in fact on one day, they worked a double shift to make sure that the task for the day would be complete so that the next one could get started the following day.

As we reflect on this three week miracle, we are not discounting all the hard work and long hours that our team and volunteers gave. However, we also see unusual provisions and interventions which must be credited to a loving God who loves to display His glory through His children when we dare to believe and step out in faith.
