Todd Sprinkel, HFI’s Director of Emergency Health and Programs, shares the following on our outreach efforts to Peru:
“Hope Force International staff partnered with a local church to fill a 40-foot container of relief supplies for victims of the earthquake in Peru. Among items loaded were 422 tents (over 35,000 pounds!), 1,079 blankets and nearly 1,000 pairs of shoes. We have also partnered with a coalition of non-profit relief agencies, working to provide much needed medications and additional relief supplies. This coalition consists of World Relief, World Concern, Medical Teams International, Christian Reformed World Relief, Food for the Hungry and MAP International. Hope Force International provided funding for the shipment of antibiotics and relief materials; the total value of this shipment was well over two million dollars (USD).”

We have received reports from the field that the re-construction of homes, hospitals and schools is progressing. Todd recently visited with a returning volunteer - Mark Campbell-Jones - who commented that Peruvians are hard-working, courteous people. The temporary shelter camps are peaceful, and most are optimistic about returning back to their homes.
We encourage you to keep the donations coming in, as this will enable HFI to continue to respond to the country of Peru and other places in crisis. Just click on the "Donate Here" button you see below to respond financially, or if you have questions for us, feel free to contact us at: info@hopeforce.org Thank you to those who have already given to this worthy effort! |
