What is Hope Force International?

Hope Force International is a Christian 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of individuals dedicated to utilizing their expertise to inspire, equip and mobilize thousands of volunteers into areas of crisis around the world. HFI trains volunteers in advance so they are prepared and allowed to respond, often in restricted areas, when disaster strikes.

Not all will be doctors, nurses, or even first responders such as firemen and paramedics, but everyone is needed. HFI emphasizes “the ministry of presence”—walking sensitively and appropriately alongside those affected by crisis or disaster.

Why Do We Exist?

We believe that disasters – both manmade and natural – will continue to be on the increase. We believe that Christians have a mandate to respond to the plight of those suffering from disaster or chronic need. While the need is so great and growing daily, the relative numbers of responders are few. It is our firm belief that there would be a dramatic increase in Christian responders if accessibility to preparation and direct involvement were more attainable. Read more about our programs.

HFI Reservists have responded to floods in the Midwest, tornados in the South, wildfires in the West and severe storms in the South. Teams responded to the horrific Tsunami in Southeast Asia through agency partnerships and are now responding to the needs in Haiti following the January 2010 earthquake. You can read more here.

Hope Force was founded by Jack and Cherie Minton in 2003 and serves as a catalyst for mobilizing the global Christian community to compassionately and effectively respond in times of crisis. In addition to a dedicated staff, Hope Force operates under the governance of a Board of Directors.

An annual audit is conducted by an independent accounting firm and is available upon request.
