HFI Responds to Southern California Fires

Hope Force International has been responding to the southern California wildfires in several ways. With our various partners, Hope Force has been working to identify the needs of those affected by this devastating disaster. "Volunteer San Diego" has asked Hope Force to partner with Social Venture Partners to conduct a donation drive in San Diego, starting October 25th and through the weekend. A televised appeal in the San Diego area will be broadcast throughout the weekend to raise needed donations.

California Hope Force Reservists will be helping to distribute needed supplies to evacuation centers and those in hotels who have had to escape their homes, and will be available as emotional and spiritual caregivers. We have also responded to a request from the Emergency Operation Center of San Diego, securing needed goods such as cots, blankets, water, etc. At the present time, there are over 100 HFI Reservists in southern California.

In Orange County, we have Reservists who have been called out on Citizen Emergency Response Team efforts, some who have served in local shelters, and others who will be serving with Operation O.C.
