Bringing Hope and Smiles to the Children of Biloxi
Bringing Hope and Smiles to the Children of Biloxi

Hope Force Project Director, Craig Snow and Ollie Lloyd, supervisor
Over 400 volunteers hit the playground at 8am. In addition to our Hope Force volunteers, some of the others joining in the fun were representatives from Keesler Air Force Base, Americorps, the City of Biloxi and some local high school students. It was one of the hottest days of the summer -- but water, sunscreen and music was plentiful.

Thanks to a high level of organization, sod was laid for a football field in addition to climbing equipment and swings, shade structures, benches, several murals and plants and trees. By 3:00 that afternoon, the new playground was dedicated and presented to the Mayor and the people of Biloxi. The sight of a new park brings beauty to a city in the midst of a slow recovery process. Seeing children on swings this weekend represented hope -- and definitely brought smiles to the faces of children and adults alike.
